Building Permits

The following are the steps to following when building in the Hyrum City limits:

Step 1: Apply for a Zoning Clearance.

Hyrum City requires Zoning Clearance and Building Permit approval for the construction, alteration, repair, removal or occupancy of any structure or any part thereof (i.e., industrial, manufacturing and commercial; residential new construction, additions, remodels, basement finishes; detached accessory garages and sheds). Sheds that are under 200 square feet will only require Zoning Clearance approval and not a Building Permit.

Step 2: Apply for a Building Permit.

The Cache County Building Department processes and issues Building Permits for Hyrum City through a separate application. An approved Hyrum City Zoning Clearance is required prior to submitting a Building Permit to Cache County.
