The Hyrum City Museum manages several archival collections pertaining to the history of Hyrum and its citizens. Each collection has a separate finding guide to help patrons and researchers to access the materials. The museum’s collections, with links to the PDF collection guides, are listed bellow. If you have questions regarding the materials within the collections, or need help finding a resource, please email the museum curator, Courtney Cochley at courtney.cochley@hyrumcity.gov or call us during visiting hours at (435) 245-0208. The museum’s archival reading room is open by appointment.

The Hyrum City Museum Archive Collections:
The Gerald Byington Photograph Collection includes photographs of various people taken at photo studios throughout northern Utah, including Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Logan, Utah between 1900 and 1970.
The Lucille Byington Collection contains materials relating to Lucille’s mother, Mildred Unsworth Chambers, between 1920 and 1979.
The Del Ray Campbell Photograph Collection consists of a photographs of the Sky View High School and South Cache High School football teams collected in the 1960s.
The Family Histories of Hyrum Collection is a growing collection of manuscripts containing short family histories from family members in Hyrum.
The Higher Education Pamphlet Collection includes class catalogs, reports from college presidents, bulletins, and yearbooks from Utah institutions.
The Hyrum City Museum Miscellaneous Photograph Collection contains several matted photographs of various people and places in Hyrum from the late 19th century and early 20th century. Among this are pictures of notable Hyrum residents, sports teams, early automobiles, and several group photographs.
The Ladies Magazine Collection includes several women’s magazines, such as Woman’s Home Companion; McCall’s; Modern Priscilla; Good House Keeping; and Better Homes and Gardens, all published between the years 1926 and 1997.
The Miscellaneous LDS Church Periodicals Collection consists of various periodicals published by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the 1920s and 1950s.
The South Cache Courier Collection includes several copies of the South Cache Courier from 1915 to 1949.
The South Cache High School Yearbook Collection consists of several student publications from South Cache High School between 1915 and 1948.
The Hyrum City Museum Miscellaneous Music Collection includes published and handwritten sheet music, musical booklets, and sheet music from magazine publications between 1904 and 1952.
The Ted Kindred Archival Collection consists of photographs, letters, journals, and other written materials relating to the history of Hyrum and its settlers, as well as those of the greater Cache Valley and Utah areas. This collection is of particular interest to anyone doing family history in Hyrum, or anyone interested in the social, religious, geographical, economic, and business history of the area.
The Periodicals Collection (HCM_012) is made up of miscellaneous periodicals published between 1943 and 1985. Publications include Life Magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, Family Circle, and more.
The Emma Payne Krogue Collection (HCM_017) consists of papers, cards, brochures, and booklets belonging to Emma Payne Krogue dating from 1915 – 1974.
The Hyrum 8th Ward Directory Collection (HCM_018) consists of one box containing several telephone directory books for the Hyrum 8th Ward dating from 1980 to 1997, several programs for the Sego Lily Camp dating from 1995 to 1999, and a program for a dedication of a new chapel dating from January 22, 1978.
The Lincoln Elementary School Vinyl Record Collection (HCM_021) contains vinyl records used in the music department at Lincoln Elementary School. Themes include classical music, instruments and singalongs, folk dances, patriotic music, seasonal, and stories.
The Daughters of Utah Pioneers – Sego Lily Camp Collection (HCM_023) consists of the roll and minute books from the local chapter of the DUP beginning in 1979 through the 1980s.
The South Cache Clarion Newspaper Collection (HCM_026) contains 31 editions of the South Cache Clarion newspaper from 1943 – 1946, and there are nine South Cache High School sports programs from 1945 and 1946, most are basketball games, but there are two football programs.
The Hyrum Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Collection (HCM_028) contains newsletters of the various CCC Companies that were at Hyrum’s F-34 Camp of the CCC. It also includes a CCC Pocatello District yearbook, South Cache High School Reflector Yearbook, and miscellaneous papers and newspapers from the Pocatello District of the CCC and South Cache High School.
