AMENDED NOTICE OF HYRUM CITY COUNCIL MID TERM VACANCY & APPLICATION 2026:
Hyrum City hereby gives notice of a mid-term vacancy on the Hyrum City Council.
In accordance with Utah Code § 20A-1-510, the City Council will fill this vacancy by appointment. The appointed individual will serve as a member of the Hyrum City Council through January 3, 2028, completing the remainder of the unexpired term.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be a United States citizen; be atleast 18 years of age; a registered voter within Hyrum City; and a resident of Hyrum City for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment; and must not be a convicted felon; must not have been convicted of treason or of an election crime; must not have been declared mentally incompetent; and must not have had the right to hold public office restricted - unless convicted felon’s right to vote or hold office has been restored pursuant to Article IV, Section 6, of the Utah Constitution and U.C.A. 20A-2-101.5. Additional requirements are outlined in the application packet.
Application Process:
Interested individuals shall submit a complete and notarized City Council Vacancy Application to Stephanie Fricke, City Recorder no later than Monday, March 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Applications may be submitted in person or by mail to: Hyrum City Recorder 60 West Main, Hyrum, Utah 84319.
Interview and Appointment:
Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the Mayor and City Council during an open and public City Council meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., held in the Hyrum City Council Chambers, located at 60 West Main, Hyrum, Utah. The City Council will make the appointment during the same meeting.

NOTICE OF CAMPAIGN FINANCE STATEMENT DUE ON MARCH 30, 2026
Hyrum City hereby gives notice that candidates seeking appointment to fill a midterm vacancy on the Hyrum City Council must file a campaign finance statement with Hyrum City Recorder Stephanie Fricke at 60 West Main, Hyrum, Utah by 5:00 p.m. on March 30, 2026 in accordance with Utah Code § 20A-1-510, and 10-3-208(6).
Upon receipt of the campaign finance statement the City Recorder will immediately submit a copy of the statement to the legislative body; and posted on the Hyrum City Website and the Utah Public Notice Website.
