Fishing Lessons

Hyrum Recreation and Hyrum State Park are excited to announce a partnership for Fishing Lessons. Fishing is a fun and relaxing activity enjoyed at Utah’s beautiful lakes and rivers. Learn how to fish at Hyrum State Park while spending quality time outdoors and enjoying the peaceful solitude of nature. This one-week class provides all the guidance and resources you need to get started.

Classes run from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd weeks of June. If sessions fill up, additional classes may be added based on demand & request. Loaner fishing poles are available for participants who request them.

Class Schedule (One Week):

• Day 1: How to get a fishing license, knots, equipment, laws and regulations (Class at Hyrum City Hall in Council Chambers)
  • Those that are 12 & 13yrs will be shown how to purchase a fishing license.
• Day 2: Practice casting into targets and games, review knots and equipment, fishing on the lake (Class at Hyrum State Park in the Beach Area)
• Days 3 to 4: Fishing (Class at Hyrum State Park in the Beach Area)
• Day 5: Free day at the lake (Provided by the Hyrum State Park
